B&W photography is experiencing a revival, as evidenced by historic German film manufacturer Orwo’s release of monochrome film stock for the first time in 50 years and Wes Anderson filming portions of “The French Dispatch” using it. There’s something nostalgic and timeless about shooting monochrome that compels artists both digital and film shooters alike to prefer classic photos over colorful ones; hence this week’s Photo of the Day theme will focus on monochrome images!
This week’s theme: B&W We want to see your best black-and-white photographs – film, digital or instant are all welcome as long as they feature monochrome tones! Subject matter/composition choices are up to you: channel Ansel Adams, Henri Cartier Bresson or Vivian Maier…we can’t wait!
