Pop quiz: When tech gadgets have let you down, what have you done about it? Chances are good that most of us turned to social media as an outlet and catharsis for venting our frustrations – whether that be trying to steer your friends away from lemons or seeking solutions–maybe missing settings, or an unfamiliar user interface paradigm–Twitter and Facebook serve double duty as modern-day soapboxes!
But imagine being able to mine all those tweets, read through all those angry reviews, and draw meaningful lessons from them? Of course, that would require correcting for relative popularity; otherwise, your list of “most complained about” would simply become one of “most popular.” Once that step was complete, however, you would gain access to an exhaustive list of products which most commonly cause confusion or disappointment – exactly what Electronics Hub recently published in an article detailing which ones caused complaints worldwide and across categories.
Electronics Hub identifies the top troublemakers: GoPro leads this list with one in 12 tweets being about it; every sixteenth one about Hero9 Black also expresses some kind of criticism or complaint; while Ricoh GR III comes third with one complaint out of 18 tweeted about its model.
As for interchangeable-lens cameras, Nikon Z7 II and Sony A7R IV mirrorless models were most frequently mentioned as culprits among tweets; each garnering about one complaint for every 20 tweets sent out about them. Canon EOS 90D stood out as being among the top ten with roughly 26 tweets to each complaint lodged against it.
